First introduced in 1970, the Nikon 180mm f2.8 Nikkor quickly made a reputation as an excellent telephoto lens for sports and theatrical photography. It features a 5 element in 4 group lens designed that renders sharp detail and excellent resolution. Nikon designed this lens with a wide focusing and aperture ring for quick, easy use. With its fast f2.8 aperture the lens is able to keep higher shutter speeds ensuring frozen action and lack of softness caused by camera shake. It is capable of focusing from infinity down to 1.8 meters (5.9 feet). It has an aperture range of f2.8-f32.
This is the third generation of this famed telephoto lens, updated for Nikon's AI lens mount. It is best suited for Nikon SLR cameras that make use of the AI variant of the Nikon F-mount but is backward compatible with Non-AI Nikon cameras.
This lens shows wear on the aperture ring and the internal lens hood from normal use. There is a moderate amount of internal dust in this lens that may affect overall image quality.
